Why Join the BCEEA?

We are the only association of our kind: An independent member-based organization whose sole purpose is to provide services, support and advice to excluded employees.

We support our members in ways no one else can. Whether you are preparing for a career or organizational change, looking to improve your current job or facing a workplace crisis, we are behind you 100%. Through our services, programs and strategic coaching, we help you make the most of workplace opportunities and setbacks.

When it comes to advice, we are impartial, non-judgmental and knowledgeable. Not only that, we have real management savvy and understand the context and complexities within which you function.

As the voice of excluded employees, we always have our members’ best interests in mind. No short-term fixes, no public confrontations – just real solutions. We not only research and document issues but also share, discuss and seek resolution for your concerns by working with key players, include the BCPSA, the Deputy Minister to the Premier and individual Deputy Ministers and Assistance Deputy Ministers.

Facing Challenges

If you ever have to face a difficult work situation, the BCEEA will be with you every step of the way. Do you have an awkward relationship with a new supervisor? Are you in the midst of a workplace investigation? Do you have a challenging direct report? Or are you worried about a possible severance situation? We’ll help you manage those issues. Or perhaps you just want a sounding board and an independent set of eyes? No matter what the circumstances we are here to support you.

We know families are important to our members. That’s why we offer an annual $1,000 Scholarship and Bursary to eligible dependents and spouses.

Career Development

We can help you revamp your resume, prepare for an interview or take a deeper dive into your possible next career steps. We will help you explore options and set up opportunities for you to discuss your career in a series of one on one networking meetings.

For members of 12 months or longer, Executive Coaching is available on a limited seat basis. Calls for applications go out 2 – 3 times a year. Read more in our Coaching Backgrounder

Legal Advice

If all else fails and you end up requiring legal advice longer term members (6 months) are eligible for legal services reimbursement of up to $500. This support for initial consultation is often enough to clarify options and alternatives.
